An Evening in The Crazy Horse Paris

Friday the 18th was a very exciting day. We caught the afternoon Eurostar to Paris, and before we knew it, we found ourselves in the metropolis. Our hotel was in the heart of the city, and as we found out later, it wasn't far from the Crazy Horse, our destination for the night. There was a slight delay with the trains, and at a certain point I had that awful feeling that we will miss the evening show. Then some cheeky taxi drivers tried to redirect and overcharge us, so be very careful around the train station! Finally, we managed to check into the hotel, but unfortunately, not much time was left to prepare. I set my hair in the morning, groomed it all day, and managed to do my make-up quickly. I was very pleased, but too early: our unfortunate events did not end there. I went for a refreshing shower just before the show, and when I stepped in, I turned the wrong tap on. There were two shower heads, apparently. Water came down splashing from above my head all over me, wiping away all of my efforts. I really started panicking at that point. With lightning speed, I plugged the curling iron in, and while curling my hair once again, I corrected my make-up. On top of it all, our taxi was late, too. I am always very optimistic, looking for the silver lining in every cloud. Hence, we used the opportunity to take some pictures before the show. I do not know how, but we got there on time.

Our hotel was breathtaking. It was the home of the famous French writer, Honoré de Balzac.

I chose a Stop Staring dress, Black Starlite earrings from Glitterparadise and a lovely vintage crystal flower brooch.

Outside the Crazy Horse. Most of the photos are bright red, as the lights inside were the same. No pictures were allowed during the show. One of the viewers from behind us tried to snap one though of Dita and the girls when they stepped onstage after the show, but security was there in a second.

After being escorted to our seats there was a bottle of champagne waiting for us.

I felt very excited here - the show was almost starting!

And so it began...

The show started with the following act: British "soldiers" marching across the stage. The lights were amazing, just like the girls.

The Les Crazy Girls did an amazing performance. There were gigantic hula hoops, spaceship and cage simulations and all kinds of exciting props and acts. The lighting was spectacular. For instance, in one of the acts Dita was not wearing anything at all; different gowns were projected onto her body so that you had the feeling she was fully dressed. The dancer that caught my attention the most however, was Mika Do, a girl of Vietnamese origin; she was fantastic! Her dancing was extraordinary.

And of course, Dita. I thought there is naturally a lot of editing involved when it comes to most photos nowadays, and for that reason I believed that she might not be as beautiful or perfect as we normally see her in all of her pictures. Which would have been perfectly fine. Was I wrong! She is absolutely fabulous. Utterly perfect. I would even dare say the pictures don't do her justice. I was speechless. But. I wil be very honest here, I was a bit sad because I felt that her acts were somewhat short. There was only one that was longer, the Le Bain scene. It might have been me; maybe I had too high expectations...I was waiting for the martini glass spectacular at the end or birdcages and huge feathers, numerous girls around in glitter...Even so, we had a lovely night and I am glad we went to see the show.

There was a souvenir shop at the entrance, but the only two things we walked away with was the signed poster and a photo in a booklet that one of the professional photographers took before the show. All in all, it was a night to remember.
