Have you ever been to Eastbourne?

Looking back at my previous posts, I realised I have written a lot about different places we've visited - London, Paris, Brighton, and I have never actually talked about our beloved Eastbourne.
Before I came to the UK, I have never heard of this town. All I knew was that it's located on the coast and that it is quite small. Despite its size, it turned out to be a little jewel. We have the gorgeous seafront, the South Downs, forests and rivers by the dozen. And a rich history. There is everything you could really wish for.
A few days ago we went for an evening walk in Old Town. It was quite cold but we enjoyed the fresh air. We walked past St. Mary's church and continued to Gildredge Park.

Part of the church was an old barn that they kept intact.

Opposite the church, there is an amazing pub built in the 12th century. The buliding has been preserved in its original state, hence the walls are crooked, the beams bent, but it is still standing proudly.

As you walk on, there is another building similar to the Lamb accross the road. There is a plaque on the wall saying that Charles Dickens resided here a few times. So we stopped to admire his flowers!

Finally we arrived to Gildredge park. Normally, squirrels are running around, then they come to you and eat from your hand. It was getting dark, and they were nowhere to be seen but we still had a lovely time.

After having some fun, we walked home to a hot drink and warm blankets with the smell of leaves in our clothes. It was a wonderful evening.
