It has been months since the most recent post. With an interesting turn of events, a blissful occurrence has taken place in my life. Since then, everything has been speeding up, and that, as you might expect, left somewhat little time for writing. To compensate a bit for the time Andy and I spent working long hours, we decided to take a short trip into the countryside.

Saturday morning we woke up to a lovely day. As I looked out of the window from my bed, I thought this weekend would be sunny and warm. After a proper stretch, two thoughts started racing in my mind: shall we use our time to catch up with the housework and thoroughly clean the house, do the shopping, or rather be daring, and go on an adventure? It did not take long before Andy and I smiled at each other, and started looking up some good places in the area to visit. That is how we came across Chiddington Castle.

On Sunday, we made all the necessary preparations: photo camera charged, full tank, picnic basket in the boot and of course, a most special dress for the occasion. I purchased two lovely Bernie Dexter pieces a few months ago, and I instantly knew the floral dream would be perfect for a trip to a castle and its gardens.

The trip to Chiddingstone was very exciting. I acquired my driving licence not so long ago, so to take a longer trip across the countryside sounded like a proper adventure. And it was. Chocolate box cottages scattered in the lush green, rolling hills and woodlands of Kent. Narrow roads leading through a tunnel-like forest, with trees splashing over above the head, pierced through with sun rays. After an hour's drive, we slowly rolled into a side road, and soon saw the gates of Chiddingstone. As we drove in through the main entrance, beautiful scenery opened up before our eyes: the castle, gardens, and a lake.

The gardens were stunning...

And then the wind started blowing!

Inside, the castle was full of history: furniture, chandeliers, paintings, even a grandfather clock, and an old piano.

Every corner felt cozy...Especially around the fireplace.

Just a quick check on the hair and make-up!

After a full tour inside, we went to see the lake and the village nearby. The next post will contain the photos of the picturesque grounds and nature surrounding the castle. Also, I cannot wait to show you how my life has changed. Au revoir 'till then!
