Sheffield Park: An Autumn Walk I.

Autumn is so lovely in this part of the world. It has been a while since we got out of the house, and I couldn't even remember the last time we went to get some fresh air. Sundays are best for trips, and luckily, it was a beautiful, sunny day. Sheffield park, located not far from our town, offers a colourful spectacle that stunns its visitors in autumn.
Andy and I woke up lazily yet again, not even having decided yet whether we would go anywhere that day or not. The morning light was rather gloomy and dark, and I started wondering if it was going to rain or not. We knew we wanted to go somewhere, but it would have been nice not to get soaked. We agreed to slowly get ready, and perhaps set off as soon as the clouds go away. And so it was: we were in the car, leaving with the first sunrays.
The drive to the park is an adventure already, but I always love driving around England: there are no straight roads. You will constantly have to conquer a bend, a slope or most often both, alongside beautiful nature. Tall trees, bright and colourful shrubs, lakes and a gothic manor are all on offer once you enter the park. Apparently, even Henry VIII was once entertained on the grounds. The walk itself and the mesmerizing views completely recharged our batteries.

The air was fresh, and I was very glad I took my faux fur stole. It was keeping my bump pleasantly warm, and I really did not want to take it off the whole time! Funnily, this hid Rosie really well. We had quite a few "observers" during the walk, and you can imagine their faces when I took the coat off and revealed my 8-month babybump...A lot of people just stopped to watch us, or smiled, said a few nice words. Some even asked for permission to take a photo.

The Trixie dress from Collectif is my favourite from them. The other reason I am wearing it is that this is the only vintage garment I can still fit into comfortably. And who says you can't be glamorous when pregnant?

Part of the park was simply enchanting. I really felt as if I was lost in a deep forest.

If you haven't been to the park, I can warmly recommend it. It is a small piece of heaven that will give you utmost relaxation and joy. In the next post, we will walk up to the manor and the surrounding gardens, so stay tuned...
