The Christmas Joy of 2017

Every year we do a Christmas photoshoot, to save the memories and look back to say: "Goodness, how much has happened since!" Never have we imagined how busy and exciting this year's Christmastime would be!
As you know, we are expecting our baby girl on Boxing Day (December 26). I have never been so busy in my life preparing for the big event...And I thought I was going to work all the way through, up until the last day. Seriously. What was I thinking??? Well, maybe I could have, if there were 48 hours in a day. We have even decided to completely redecorate our kitchen and bathroom before the baby comes. Shopping, antenatal classes, cord blood banking...Goodness. And just a week before the due date, we could finally put our feet up a little. Last minute hospital bag packing, Christmas tree decorating, house cleaning, making wreaths for the door and table...Still, we managed to squeeze in our annual festive photoshoot. So I will invite you to take a look into our little home this Christmas...

Some of the ornaments are really old, from my grandmother's tree, or they have been handmade and survived a good few winters..
There is no day that passes by and I don't wonder what our daughter will be like. What kind of person she will turn out to be, what her face looks like and if she'll be strong enough for this world we live in. Have you ever had that feeling? Needless to say, I have always been a hopeless optimist. But all I wish for this year really is that she be healthy and happy, whatever she chooses to do in life.
In closing, may I wish you the happiest holidays: have a lot of snow, family around you, joy, good health or lovely gifts...whatever you wished for this year. Next time I write, you will meet someone new, and who knows, perhaps she'll come soon enough so that we'll put her under the tree as our most precious gift in life.
