Top Three Things to See in the UK at Springtime

What's spring like in England, you ask. Most people believe it is constantly raining here, and while some parts of the country do get more rain than others, this could not be further from the truth.

Spring kicked in this week with all its might, and everybody has been spending their time outside.

1. Our number one top destination is the Arlington Bluebell Walk.

A forest trail with a thick carpet of fragrant flowers portrays the best of spring in Britain. A pond with willow trees in the middle of the forest, birdsong and blossoming trees are just cherries on top. If you go up to Sheffield, you can enjoy the bluebells from a steam train. Did you know that more than half of the whole number of these flowers in the world grow here?

The bluebells just make you want to lay down into the grass, isn't it? On that note....

2. Daffodils

Daffodils in bloom in England are a spectacle not easily forgotten. They are so thickly planted along the sidewalks, in the gardens, the parks, around tree trunks, on the rolling hillsides - basically everywhere, that it's impossible not to stop and look at them.

They are blooming in so many different colours and kinds that you can't count, ranging from pure white to multi-petal ones.

This week we went to a nearby park to enjoy them. The yellow outbursts of colour and the green, budding trees make a spectacular combination.

3. Park and castle grounds visiting

The English gardens and parks are world famous for no small reason. As are its castles, standing tall, monuments of the past. It is nearly impossible to pick the most beautiful one as each one of these places has its unique charm.

Choose Sheffield park - apart from the stunning manor, the flora will simply blow you away. Colours everywhere, the sound of water and birdsong.

Choose Castle Herstmonceux - stone walls full of history with breathtaking gardens.

Or visit Arundel - a towering beast of a castle with vast grounds and gardens and have lunch in a dining room kept in the style of times past.

And these are only the closest locations to us. But there are many more sights to see, perfect for a family day out. I cannot wait to continue exploring these holiday destinations in the UK with my family. You just want to go back again and again...
